Accommodation the regional and local needs of people in the national, regional and local development in Central Kalimantan in which all of their activities are related to the utilization of space and land that are currently covered by majority of forest area, the spatial allocation of land has been conducted by combining all others of sector development needs then the forestry sector requirements. By getting through a long awaiting processes, the Forestry Land use has been matched into the new land allocation which is called RTRWP of Central Kalimantan Province. The RTRWP allocates the total 15,798,359.53 hectare of the land of Central Kalimantan Province into two main functionality categories. First, Conservation area covers 1,760,079.94 hectare. Second, Cultivation area cover 14,038,279.59 hectare. Based on the RTRWP of 1999 and referred to the Law No. 41 / 1999 article 21, in order to utilize and use the forest area in terms of raising an economic value added to the regional and local development in an autonomous region, the total size of forest area that can be used in Central Kalimantan is 13,049,045.45 hectare. The size is divided into the Conservation Area of 1,120,893.55 hectare and the Cultivation Area of 11,928,151.99 hectare. Another potency of forest in Central Kalimantan is supported by the province's geographical position. The equator line get through across the middle of the province it is in between 0º 44' 54" - 3º34' 7" North and 110º43' 19" - 115º47' 36" East. The position gives a unique bio-diversity of forest natural resources in the province. |
